Incredibly sweet. I don't actually remember the first time we met, but I remember thinking *immediately* that she was sweet and kind and I liked her.

Networking I think...she was friends with Steph (B., back then she was Steph N.)...and I was introduced to Steph through...the other Steph I think...I don't know, it's complicated. But Harry Potter was definitely the glue that kept us together for a long time. =D

Pfft yeah. He's in the army now; it probably won't take that long before he actually does. =X

I know I've been posting like mad lately, but this is a CRUCIAL entry.
Seriously. It's necessary that I post this.
I decided to make some sandwiches earlier for lunch. I get kinda creative when I'm making sandwiches - I don't like to put deli meat and some mustard on two pieces of bread and call it a day. Oh no. I toasted the bread, and heated up some of the leftover pork chops and homemade apple sauce that was in the fridge. I wasn't really sure how that was going to end up. Turns out, it was actually pretty good.
Tonight, my gramma and I were cleaning up after dinner, and I decided to tell her about the sandwiches.
I didn't get much further than "You know, those pork chop sandwiches I made - ", because as soon as it was out of my mouth I started LAUGHING hysterically. Seriously, I was doubled over the counter from laughing so hard.
My gramma thought I had lost my mind.
Which I probably have.
Also, I've been trying to update this entry, entitled "Most Romantic Things Justin Has Ever Said To Me". I backdated it to the date we became a couple (awwww DIABETES) so as to be able to find it later. Just so you all know what the date is funky. I'm sure there's more, but I'm blanking at the moment. I'll add to it as I see fit and link you all to it regularly. =D |

I saw this on my brother's girlfriend's Facebook page, and I had more LOLs over it than I probably should have:

Speaking of my brother's girlfriend...
Here's the deal. Scott has known this chick for about a year and a half. He says he had feelings for her the whole time, but she was always dating someone else. Sounds vaguely familiar (*cough* ME AND DON *cough*). She ends up single a few months ago, and the two of them were hanging out all summer. SIX DAYS before he leaves for college in VERMONT, he decides to ask her out.
Brilliant.
This girl - Sam, incidentally - is starting her junior year of high school this year, so he has to leave her behind. This is the first time either has fallen in love, and they are both HEARTBROKEN. Oh, my god. It's kinda gross, actually. Not gonna lie.
Sam has latched onto me because...well, because I'm her boyfriend's sister I guess, and because he told her that I've had long-distance, military-related relationships.
I'm not going to tell her that it was only ONE relationship, and it didn't work out...
I'm also not telling her the truth, that people change in college. Something happens in those four years (or 5+ in my case, LOL) that makes people grow and mature. Sometimes you grow closer together, but more often you grow farther apart. I have very few friends now that I was friends with in high school - but the ones I do have I love with all my heart.
At any rate.
Sam has been e-mailing me on a regular basis, and asked if she could please call me, as the last couple of weeks before school starts are the toughest. In school, she can distract herself with her studies, but over the summer she's pining like mad for my brother.
Again, kinda gross.
But I do have a lot of sympathy for the girl. I see myself in high school, hopelessly in love with a man that I would learn was COMPLETELY wrong for me. At the time, I'd wished that *I* had someone to talk to about what I was going through. It's one of the reasons I started this livejournal.
So I'm hoping that I can be some sort of support for her. Plus, as gross as it is, it's also kind of cute. She seems to make Scott endlessly happy, so I really have to like her at least for that.
We'll see what happens. It's certainly been interesting to have a 16-year-old sobbing mess in my inbox the past couple of days. Poor thing. =/
ZOMG my textbooks just arrived.

Okay, so reading over some of my old entries from about four years ago, I discovered some of glitter_faerie's and my old Jesus and Lupin stories. For reference:
LUPIN: Remus Lupin, from the Harry Potter series
JESUS: Well duh.
TAYLOUR: Originally Taylor Hanson's evil twin, then it became Satan Incarnate
SIRIUS: Another character in the Harry Potter series
We had Lupin and Sirius date, then break up, and have Lupin and Jesus date.
Hilarity ensued.
These made me laugh soooo hard when we first came up with it, and it made me laugh again just now, so I felt that it was worth re-posting:

Might have to peel myself away from Rise and Fall of the Third Reich for a few months.

AWESOME.
I know my boyfriend is an atheist who cringes at country music, but he's made me feel a way that's described perfectly in a Keith Urban song:

I guess an Eagles song would say it just as well...
"I've got a peaceful, easy feeling...and I know you won't let me down..."
...except the Keith Urban lyric has been in my head since we got back from Montauk.

I mean, granted, it's just a movie and we'll all have to muddle through somehow...but I was really looking forward to having that weekend with my CT girls. =/ Harry Potter is our reunion; NOTHING gets in the way of us getting together and seeing these films.
Plus, Ralph Fiennes' son is so damn creepy. I was really looking forward to watching him play young Tom Riddle. (-_-)

My brother's new girlfriend just added me as a friend on Facebook.
AWWWW.
This is my baby brother (who is leaving for college in four days, that bastard), and this is essentially his first girlfriend.
Since they've known each other for so long, I see them both falling hard and fast for each other.
Especially since he's leaving for school, so they won't seeing each other all that much.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all that.
He only just asked her to be his girlfriend recently, over the weekend I think.
I posted on his Facebook wall: "Hey, how long do you guys have to be together before I get to see a picture of this girl?"
Next thing I know, she's added me as a friend.
Which I'm almost positive was due to Scott's encouragement, but anyway.
I just think it's sweet. His first girlfriend, and she's on my Facebook friends' list.
Awwww. =)
I hope I like her...
She's BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely beautiful. Looks a lot like Vanessa Hudgens, actually, with her big bright smile and bright eyes.
Kinda makes me wonder how Scott got her, him being a dork and all. =P
I just got super excited because she's on my Facebook page now. Which begs the question, who's the bigger dork, him or me? |

Influenced partly by glitter_faerie's most recent LJ entry, and a mild desire for change, I've gone ahead and changed my LJ background. The Audrey Hepburn one I was using was starting to get a little hard on the eyes, lol. This one is nice and simple - just a nighttime picture of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.
Of *course* it was something German. Would you expect anything less of me?
I felt that the gate that used to stand between East and West Germany, and now stands as a monument to the acceptance of diversity and the gradual social unification of the planet, was a good symbol to use on an internet forum where SO MUCH SOCIAL CHAOS has occurred in the past.
Plus it's really pretty. (^_^)
Headed out tonight with the girls for an evening of karaoke-induced debauchery (no alcohol in MY belly tonight, thankyouverymuch). Hopefully Dee and Nicole will get on well. Afterward? Hopefully I'll have my Nikki all to myself. XD

Okay. I can safely say, without exaggeration, that this is the worst hangover I can ever remember experiencing. No lie. I woke up this morning, and my bedroom was *still* spinning. I'm maybe 90% sure that I went to work buzzed; I don't even think I was initially hung over.
Everything was making me dizzy and nauseous. EVERYTHING. Stupid things. Like...well, there are a couple of drugs, namely Tessalon Perles (benzonatate, for cough) and vitamin D that come in little round capsules. Watching them roll around on the counting tray made me sooo nauseous. I was maybe an hour into my shift, not even, before I had to run to the bathroom and puke my brains out.
WTF.
On my way back to the pharmacy, I decided to go down the spring water aisle and grab a couple of bottles of water. Stay hydrated, right? Only do you know what they put on the opposite side of the spring water down that aisle? THE BEER CASE.
I almost threw up again right then and there.
Not. Fair.
I finally managed to get some hot soup into my body and started feeling a bit better.
Then Deanna came in.
Deanna is one of my very most favorite people, but she's been in PMS crazy bitch mode for the past few days. She was especially cranky today because she wanted to get her hair cut - "it'll take them ten minutes, and I'll feel so much better!" - but the woman at the shop around the corner was leaving at 3 and would be gone for a week. And Deanna was scheduled to work 1-9.
Well, knowing this would make her feel better, I offered to stay late so she could go. Actually, that's not true - I told her I was staying late so she could get her hair cut, and then proceeded to kick her out of the department. I knew I wouldn't be staying THAT late to cover her, and besides, sometimes we all need these little things to improve our spirits.
Shortly before I kicked her out, she casually mentioned that she wanted a smoothie from the Carvel around the corner.
"ME TOO," I exclaimed. "James says that the best thing for a hangover is water, aspirin, and some potassium. I want a banana smoothie!"
She laughed and agreed to get us some smoothies once she was finished with her haircut.
She came back, and I asked her how much it was.
"I don't remember," she said, without making eye contact with me. Which was her way of saying that she wanted to buy me the drink. Awwww.
On my way out, I said, "Hey, thanks for the smoothie."
"Thanks for staying late for me."
Awwww. We both left in better spirits. It was cute.
And now, bed. |
